Robotics in INDIA is catching up fast. To contribute to this growth, our effort should focus the following three aspects.

1. Enable the knowledge:

The gap between science fiction and science fact is closing.  With recent advances in robotic software and computer hardware, new levels of robotic intelligence are now available. For education, robotics offers an exciting, enjoyable means for students to learn and to apply useful transferable skills..  Robotics provides a multidisciplinary learning tool for fundamentals, such as mathematics, physics, and science

Our academicians should understand this fact and act accordingly to include robotic in syllabus right from secondary schools up to post graduate level.

2. A competitive environment for growth:

 We need more and more Robotic clubs, robotic contests, seminars and workshops to be organized and conducted to cultivate a competitive environment.

3. Sharing of Resources:

Knowledge base and raw materials are important for the development of a technology like robotics.

Crab 2000 is a PC based walking robot with six legs each of having three degrees of freedom. It designed to select the walking gait based on the features of the terrain on which it walks. The control Architecture of the robot has two levels. The high level control is implemented using a PC and a micro controller (89c51) is made use for the low level control. The robot is capable of detecting the obstacles along its path and can change its walking gait from high level control or by user interface.
